Strappy dresses seem to be all the rage right now, but shapeless fashion items aren’t always the most flattering pieces of clothing, especially when they don’t hug your curves perfectly.

But a woman on TikTok found the perfect solution, like Daily Star reports she shared her tip for making sure your strappy dresses still hug your waist in all the right places without needing to break out the sewing kit.

Carolina Freixa posted a video in which she revealed that the easiest way to achieve the perfect bodycon dress is to turn the garment inside out and pull it on, before attaching a safety pin to each side of the dress along the along your waist.

Next, Carolina said you should tie a piece of string through each safety pin before bringing the pieces of string down the center of the dress and tying them together – which pulls the fabric inward around your cut.

Then just turn the dress right side up and put it on.

Carolina, who posts under the username @carolinefreixacaptioned the video, “How to make your dress fit perfectly.”

The woman’s video has already racked up over 5.4 million views, and people have been blown away by how easily the trick is done.

While another added: “That’s super helpful!”

“Awesome! I hate wearing belts with dresses, and this is the perfect solution!” exclaimed a third.

Other reviewers have said that while the hack is easy to do without sewing, you can just as easily “sew loops” to the sides of your dress instead if you wish, as some have said that pins of security could ruin the dress in the long run.

Someone wrote, “You’ll damage the dress though.”

But another offered a solution, adding: “If you don’t want to use pins, try sewing loops.”

Meanwhile, some of the video’s 745 commenters just wanted to praise Carolina for looking stunning in the dress before and after showing off her hack.

One said, “Even when the dress is upside down and inside out, it still fits you well.”
